On the surface, Islam and Christianity look quite similar. In fact, many of the Muslim beliefs are taken from the Bible. When examined closely, you can see that the Qur’an was written with a heavy influence from the Old Testament Scriptures. The writings of Moses appear in the Qur’an as well as the words of David, the prophets, and Jesus Christ. Even though Christians can see many similarities in Islam, it is the differences that make Islam dangerous.

Van Impe Ministry out of TBN in clash over Islam

 

A Christian ministry's decision to expose as "false teachers" several celebrity ministers it believes are corrupting biblical teachings has prompted a rift, with Jack Van Impe Ministries dropping plans to work in the future with Trinity Broadcasting Network, where it has broadcast for more than two decades.

"I Will Not Be Silenced! I will not allow anyone to tell me what I can and cannot preach," Van Impe said in a statement when TBN would not allow his program to air.

The dispute arose over the issue of advocating for "Chrislam" and other efforts that are designed to find "common ground" between Christians and Muslims. TBN declined to air one of Van Impe's programs that contained sharp criticisms of leaders such as Rick Warren of "The Purpose Driven Life" fame and Robert Schuller

"We received a call from Matt Crouch of TBN informing us that they would not run that program. … The reason he gave was that we specifically mentioned Rick Warren and Robert Schuller and that it is TBN's policy that broadcasters are not allowed to rebuke other ministries," Van Impe said.

"This is a rather hypocritical statement in light of the fact that they have never said anything in the past when we have rebuked others such as Bishop Spong, Bishop Pike, and in the past few months Harold Camping and Rob Bell," he continued. "They also stated that they would not run any future program where we offered our DVD Reclaiming & Restoring Biblical Christianity as a premium for a donation to our ministry. A DVD that exposes false teachers and the heresies that they proclaim"  Van Impe said.

TBN did not respond to WND's request for comment on the dispute.

La Amenaza del Islam

¿En qué sentido supone el Islam una amenaza para occidente? ¿Cuáles son las diferencias con el cristianismo? ¿Qué solución podemos plantear a dicha amenaza? Aunque esta conferencia de Don José Grau tuvo lugar en 1990, los temas planteados siguen siendo vigentes, y la predicación del Evangelio sigue siendo aún más necesaria.

Don José Grau (1931- ) es un reconocido autor, teólogo y predicador. Su inmensa labor literaria, gran parte de ella al frente de Ediciones Evangélicas Europeas (EEE), con la fiel ayuda de su esposa María Beltrán, no estuvo nunca exenta de dificultades durante el franquismo en España. En 1961 Don José Grau fue procesado por imprimir “literatura clandestina”, siendo destruidos todos sus libros y más de sesenta mil folletos. Grau es autor de varias obras, ha sido profesor del Instituto Bíblico y Seminario Teológico de España (IBSTE) de Castelldefels (Barcelona) y del Centro Evangélico de Estudios Bíblicos (CEEB). También ha dado mucho de su tiempo a organismos como la Alianza Evangélica Española, cuya Comisión de Teología ha dirigido y representado en varios congresos internacionales. Grau es hoy día una de las mayores autoridades protestantes del mundo en el campo del catolicismo-romano. Como parte del Comité de la Unión Bíblica, ha escrito abundante material devocional sobre muchos libros de la Escritura, pero también un buen número de comentarios bíblicos de gran valor académico. Su pensamiento, crecientemente influenciado por la teología reformada, se caracteriza por su enorme inquietud intelectual, revelando un aspecto tremendamente polifacético.
