God, help to shut up!

God, teach me to shut up.

There is no situation that most suffocating terms of hearing innuendo and silence us.
Mas tenho pedido exatamente isto a Deus: calar diante de situações extremas, mesmo que eu esteja com a razão. But I have asked exactly God: silence before extreme situations, even if I'm right. Nós cristãos chamaríamos isso de dar a outra face. We Christians call it turning the other cheek.
Percebi a necessidade de me posicionar assim ao me ver ultimamente envolvida em discussões, bate-bocas, não levando desaforo pra casa, como se diz por aí. Realized the need to position myself just to see me lately involved in discussions, shouting matches, not taking shit back home, as they say there.
Mas enquanto não levava desaforo pra casa, também não levava amigos, aliados e familiares na minha caminhada. But while not wearing shit home, also took no friends, allies and family in my walk. Percebi, graças a Deus, que é melhor perder uma oportunidade de mostrar que estou certa, a perder companheiros nessa curta e desafiadora passagem por esse mundo. I realized, thanks to God, which is better to lose an opportunity to show that I'm right, losing comrades in this short and challenging passage through this world.
